New Site Design Live

After a bit of last minute tidy up, I’ve put the new version of CameraPriceBuster.co.uk live. If you have any problems then please let me know. If necessary you can use the old .com version of the site, which I will be updating some time in the future.

The new site should update much faster and allow me to more readily add new features. I’m also hoping to spend more time on maintaining the listings now that this is out of the way.

There are some changes in the navigation – please click on a manufacturer name to view all the sub-categories available. The smaller broken out categories (eg Canon Digital SLRs) in the navigation represent the most popular ones from the old version of the site, I’ve kept them for convenience – for now.

    Great! Finally update, as page started to be quite outdated by its look. Great that you added pics of items that I was missing a bit. Any chance to link it to http://www.lenstip.com tp review where available?

    The price update times and frequency vary occasionally, depending on how busy the server is. Normally they update four times a day: very early morning, around 11am, around 3pm and 7pm.

    I am using the site on firefox on fedora linux. There seems to be an issue with the character encoding. which prevents the ‘£’ (pound signs) from displaying. My browser guesses UTF-8, but that seems to be wrong. Manually setting it to any of the ‘western’ sets fixes the pound signs.

    Perhaps you could add a meta tag with the right encoding in it, or make the page be UTF-8.

      Thanks for the feedback ssam. I’ve just put in proper encoding of the pound sign which I think will fix it for you.
