New Nikon D600 Full Frame SLR & New Nikon 1 Lens

Nikon have announced a new full frame SLR, the Nikon D600. It has a 24 megapixel sensor, and offers an ISO range of 50 to 25600. Full HD video, 39 point AF autofocus system and 5.5 frames per second shooting make up the main specs. It is the smallest and lightest full frame Nikon ever, and has the same weather sealing as the D800.

The full press release is here. Strangely there is no mention of the price or release date yet, but apparently the expected release date is the 18 September and the RRP is £1995.

You can find our UK stock price comparison for the D600 Body here, and the price for the D600 with the 24-85mm Lens here.

Also announced is a new lens for the Nikon 1 System, the Nikon 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm f/1.8 lens. This is the fasted Nikon 1 lens yet. The press release is here.

This is a good chance to catch up with a few other Nikon announcements:

First up is the Nikon 1 J2, which features a new creative mode, and is available in more colours (alas, even more to list on the site!).
Alongside this is another new 1 Nikkor lens (ie Nikon 1 lens), the 1 NIKKOR 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 lens offering a 2.5x zoom.
A waterproof case for the J1 and J2, the WP-N1, is also coming.

New coolpix compact cameras:
The Nikon Coolpix S6400 with 12x zoom and touch screen.
The Coolpix S800c is an Android device, so can download apps etc using wifi – so you could run the camera price buster app I assume!
The Coolpix P7700, Coolpix L610 and the Coolpix S01 have also been announced over the last month.
