A brilliant camera, not too big and a very solid build.
Excellent image quality, and noise is very limited, very useable up to iso1600.
Frame rate of 6fps is great, and 8fps with the grip is outstanding (especially when canon charge £1000s for 10fps!).
D300 raw files are not supported in Adobe photoshop CS2 wich is a shame, the supplied Capture NX is good though once you are used to it.
Autofocus is very comprehensive, loads of points, and very versatile if you take the time to read the instructions. With decent lenses it is very fast and will track almost anything.
Setting memory banks are great too, you can set the camera specifically for landscapes, snaps, etc. so you dont need to go through changing lots of different settings.

A big improvement over the D200, but still hampered by the cropped DX sensor, so the pictures tend to be very noisy at ISO 400 and above. You need the MBD-10 battery grip to get the best from it.
FOR: Bright viewfinder, blistering FPS and buffer, good optional vertical grip, nice and clear LCD, bettery battery life.
AGAINST: Picures suffer from noise, over-complicated AF system (you never know where you are with it!).
