I bought one of these last year for my Canon 400D and I am very impressed with the results & build quality, a true
" holiday lens " not only for its versatility, but also weight saving versus packing numerous lenses .
The zoom lock is a handy feature to prevent " Tromboning "
( which can be annoying when you forget to lock it !)
the only negative I would give it, would be when using built-in flash at the wide angle end of the lens, there is some semicircular lens shadow at the bottom of the frame due to the large lens diameter, other than that I find it A1, and it spends most of its time on the camera
